Eye Care Centre
Eye Care Centre One of the state of the art division of the Crescent Hospital is our Ophthalmic Centre.
Vision is one of the greatest gifts of the Almighty Allaah as it is highly essential to lead a normal life. We have an extra responsibility to preserve this gift of nature. Considering this, The Crescent Hospital Ophthalmic Centre was started in 2010 to cater to the eye care services of the people. Being a nonprofit, charitable organization, our vision is to provide the best eye care services to the poor, the middle class as well as the elite.
The eye department developed gradually to the levels of providing the best in the Cataract Surgery by Phaco Emulsification with multifocal IoL implantation to surgical treatments of Retinal disorders. Glaucoma, Uvea and Neuro – Ophthalmology services are also provided in addition to Paediatric Cataract surgeries.
We are greatful to Allaah for providing us generous and Philanthrophic donors who donated us the state of the art equipment like Cold Phaco (AMO,USA) Cataract Surgery machine, Appa Yag Laser for Post Cataract treatment and Glaucoma (Eye pressure) correction. In addition we have also received NCT (Eye pressure) measuring instrument from TOPCON, Japan, and NIDEK (AR), Japan. The recent purchase of the Green Laser, Appasamy, has added to the excellence in the treatment of the Diabetic Retinopathy and other Retinal Laser treatments to the outpatient.

The Diabetic Retinopathy and Macula Clinic caters to the very vital part of the Eye, i.e. Retina by way of Intra Vitreal Avastin and Accentrix injections to the needy patients.
The Lasik, i.e Epi – Lasik and Femto-second Lasik is also performed at the centre for vision correction and freedom from glasses to the young patients.
Our monthly inhouse eye camps as well as our outreach camps have provided vision correction to many poor patients of Chennai city.
The Poor patients with financial constraints receive free Cataract (Phaco Laser) surgery, Yag Lasers and Green Lasers, as they are covered by generous donations from M/s. Ameerunissa Begum Sahiba’s Endowment Trust in addition to other donors and well wishers. The Eye care department is well equipped with excellent service provided by highly qualified dedicated team of Doctor, Optometrist, OT Technician, Counsellers, Optician, Nurse and Pharmacist. Their zeal and motto is to serve fellow human beings especially from the lower strata of society.
We expect to do the best in Eye care in the future years to come by the grace of the Almighty. Let us all join hands, enlighten our minds and put into action the good efforts of all in achieving a society with inner vision and the best Eye vision.
